BBQ Sauce - Hickory
Small batch - Makes 3/4 mason jar
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups ketchup
- 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
- 0.25 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 0.25 cup molasses (or dark brown sugar)
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp mesquite liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 0.5 cup water
- 1 tbsp butter (for richness)
Directions
- Combine ingredients (not butter) and bring to boil
- Simmer 20-30 minutes (thickens)
- Add butter at last
- Let cool and bottle.
