BBQ Sauce - Hickory


Small batch - Makes 3/4 mason jar

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups ketchup
  • 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup molasses (or dark brown sugar)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp mesquite liquid smoke
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tbsp butter (for richness)

Directions

  • Combine ingredients (not butter) and bring to boil
  • Simmer 20-30 minutes (thickens)
  • Add butter at last
  • Let cool and bottle.
